Nsolo Bush Camp; On Safari with Robin Pope in South Luangwa, Zambia

Nsolo Bush Camp

It is set back from the sand river itself, surrounded on all sides by bush. Located in South Luangwa, approximately 45 mins walk down the Luwi river from Luwi bush camp, Nsolo; meaning “the honey guide” – so named after the extraordinary honey guide bird that will literally lead you to honey – is another of Carr’s great bush camps.

With only four rooms it is as small as Luwi but offers more amenities in the form of a lounge area by the bar where guests can relax and read the camp’s collection of books, whilst overlooking the watering hole.

It is in essence very similar to Luwi in character based solely around walking safaris but the main difference comes in the rooms; they are open-fronted and raised on wooden decks, all have en suite bathrooms.
