Bilimungwe, owned by the Bushcamp Company is a great little walking camp, well regarded as one of the best walking camps in the Luangwa. Adventurous safaris are guaranteed with guides often spending long walks and subsequently large chunks of the day out of camp. It is a typical Luangwa bush camp – fantastic!

Bilimungwe– The Detail

Bilimungwe is one of the Bushcamp Companies walking trail camps. The camp has just 4 rooms and is located in a wonderfully untouched area of the Luangwa. Designed to satisfy the serious walking client, the camp is certainly for the adventurous.

Bilimungwe is the southern most camp in the South Luangwa and is just a short road transfer from Mfuwe airport. Set on the banks of the Luangwa River, nestled into the forest, Bilimungwe has a peaceful outlook over the permanent water hole in front of the main dining and lounge area.

Camp is linked up by a series of raised wooden walkways and kept cool by the shade of the magnificent mahogany trees that provide the backdrop for this idyllic spot. Each of the four reed and thatch chalets has 2 double beds, en-suite showers, toilets, double vanities and an individual rechargeable lighting system.

Guiding as with all the Bushcamps Companies camps is set very high - specialist walking guides are on hand and game drives during the day and night are on offer
