Busanga Bush Camp - Our View

Busanga Bush Camp is one of our favorite camps in the Kafue. Originally a privately run camp, Wilderness Safaris now run Busanga and have still left the lodge with its original charm. the location is superb, with good predator concentration and stunning views over the Busanga Plains. Not as luxurious as nearby Shumba or Kapinga, the camp caters for the safari enthusiast - we love it!

Lufupa

This lodge has the most attractive setting of all of the Kafue river lodges set on the confluence of the Kafue and Lufupa Rivers. Originally created as a family home, the lodge has a somewhat bizarre design; the kitchen and the manager’s houses have by far the most desirable views and the majority of the rooms are set back, approximately fifty yards from the river itself.

Kapinga - Our View

The quality of the camp certainly satisfies a more luxurious clientele than nearby Busanga Plains Camp. We do believe that Kapinga is not quite as polished a safari camp as the excellent nearby Shumba Camp but Kapinga’s selling point however is its size – with only 4 rooms the camp feels small and intimate. The game viewing from here is just as good as the other camps in the area and we are more than happy selling it as the best top end option when Shumba is full.

Shumba-Our View

Definitely one of Kafue’s best camps Wilderness Safaris Shumba Camp has a great setting and a real emphasis on the luxury experience. The area is visited by few guests so safaris here are very exclusive and the quality of guiding set very high. The Busanga Plains is famous for its predator concentrations and Shumba is set right in the best area….big game driving here is superb. We love this camp.

Lunga River Lodge - Our View

LUNGA RIVER LODGE IS CURRENTLY CLOSED. Located on the outskirts of the park, we do not view Lunga as being a place to experience the best of Kafue's game viewing; it is a lodge that is best booked with some time on the Busanga Plains. Having said that, the river safari and fishing opportunities here are superb and the lodge has had consitently good management for years now. A great choice for people wanting a few nights focussing on the river.
